The River
Your path starts in the mountaintops, amidst colossal spires
You ride the wind so far above, at the heart of thunder's ire
Then find your folk in nameless rills, in the valley's mighty maw
And wander down an ageless path so many walked before
Mark now the cliffs that howl in pain, where snaring branches grow
Above find verdant canopies, seek not the sun's gold glow
Run through a tangled maze of veins, for there you're made complete
A basin black with peat and mud is where we'll finally meet
So make your bloody mark upon this plain!
Scar an ancient landscape with your might!
Roar! Cry out your strength to vernal winds!
Run! Find the icy ends of earth!
Beneath those frozen mountaintops, the river spoke to me
Follow me, the river said, for I will give you wings
Beneath those verdant canopies, the river spoke to me
Follow me, the river said, and you will be complete.
Follow me, the river said - my burning hope you'll see!
Follow me, the river said - witness my legacy!
Follow me, the river said - for I will give you strength!
Follow me, the river said - follow me to your death!
So hail the beating heart beneath the rime!
Hail the fearsome wind that hews the trees!
Hail this secret glade as old as time!
Hail the sacred life that runs through me!
Hail the falling leaves that fill the sky!
Hail the mighty grandeur my eyes see!
Hail the blooming ash on which I fly!
Hail the very earth beneath my feet!
